This is part one of a series of videos where we will use advanced technology to meet our needs as fitness professionals. In this tutorial, we will use an audio mixer; in a follow-up tutorial, we will use an audio interface. In this tutorial, we will use it to build a setup for an online fitness instructor. We will go through a setup using a lavalier microphone and connecting it to an iPad for music. These can be replaced with an iPhone, a computer, or a stereo if needed, but make sure you have the proper adapters.
What is an audio mixer?
An audio mixer is a device that combines, adjusts, and manipulates multiple audio signals. It allows for the blending of different audio sources, such as microphones, instruments, and playback devices, to create a balanced sound output. Audio mixers are equipped with controls such as volume faders, equalizers, and effects processors, enabling users to tailor the mix to their desired sound. Often used by DJs, musicians, and broadcasters, mixers are essential for achieving high-quality audio in live performances, recordings, and streaming. They offer both flexibility and precision in managing sound for various applications.
